Male Pattern Baldness affects approximately 1 in 5 men in North America. It can creep up with very little warning. One morning you wake up and you notice your hairline is receding into the classic “M” shape. Sometimes it’s as simple as noticing your spiral bald spot slowly growing.
The hard ugly truth about it is that male pattern baldness or as it’s medically known, Androgenic Alopecia is mostly out of your control. We are all subject to our biology. If you have the baldness gene, you will eventually go bald. With that said, there are some natural therapies that can make your hair stronger & healthier. These remedies can even slightly slow down your hair loss as well. But unfortunately, they will not prevent you from going bald. Now let’s discuss some of the largest variables associated with treatments.
Maintaining the right diet is a good start in slowing down hair loss. Poor diet can create nutrient deficient conditions. Try to maintain a steady diet of vitamin A & beta-carotene-rich foods. Carrots, cantaloupe, bell peppers are a good start. Omega-3 rich fatty fish, such as salmon, are greatly beneficial in contributing to healthy shiny hair. Zinc deficiencies have been known to cause hair loss as well. Whole grains, milk, poultry, and red meat are commonly rich in zinc.
Drink lots and lots of water. Staying hydrated keeps your body in ideal healthy conditions. If your body is not healthy and hydrated your skin and hair cells will not be able to naturally mature. Aim for 8 to 10 glasses of water a day while actively aiming to limit dehydrating drinks such as coffee & soda pop.
Nioxin shampoo and hair treatment has been known to keep your hair in tip-top shape to improve the look and appearance of your hair. Feeding your hair the proper nutrients and care both inside and out will allow it to appear healthier and thicker. Apply the Nioxin shampoo twice daily to a wet scalp. Use approximately 1 mL and gently massage into the affected balding area. Leave in place for a few minutes before washing out.
Lastly, but certainly not least, attempt to eradicate stress in your life. We have all experienced stress in our lives and sometimes it can feel like your hair is falling out. Hair loss has been known to be stress related. Stress-related hair loss can be controlled. If you control the stress, your hair can grow back.
